We use Ceph because it automatically replicates your data across multiple disks and nodes, ensuring your data remains safe even if hardware fails. It's the same technology used by major cloud providers and enterprises worldwide.
Storage VPS is optimized for high-capacity storage at a lower price point. While regular VPS uses fast NVMe SSDs, Storage VPS uses HDD storage backed by Ceph for larger capacity at lower cost. Storage VPS is ideal for backups, archives, and media libraries where capacity matters more than raw I/O speed.
Extremely reliable. Ceph replicates your data three times across different physical disks and nodes. If a disk or node fails, Ceph automatically recovers the data from other replicas. This provides 99.999999% data durability, comparable to major cloud storage providers.
Yes! You can easily upgrade to a larger Storage VPS plan at any time. The upgrade process is seamless - your data remains intact, and you'll have access to the additional storage immediately after the upgrade completes.
Storage VPS uses HDD storage optimized for sequential read/write operations. It's perfect for large file storage, streaming media, and backup workloads. For applications requiring high IOPS (like databases), we recommend our Premium or High Frequency VPS with NVMe storage.
While Ceph provides triple replication for hardware failure protection, this is not a replacement for backups. We recommend maintaining your own backup strategy for critical data. You can use our Object Storage service for off-site backups or snapshots.
While technically possible, we don't recommend Storage VPS for database workloads. HDD storage has higher latency compared to NVMe SSDs. For databases and other I/O-intensive applications, our Premium or High Frequency VPS with NVMe storage would be a better choice.
